Does your daily fiber intake amount to the muffin you grabbed at 7-11? Is more than half your water intake for the day in your coffee? I used to get onto my dad about drinking water, and he would say, "well I've had 4 cups of coffee" smh, lol. I believe beauty starts within if you continue to put crap in your body and expect to feel and look good, you're sadly mistaken. Ladies, you know as we age we have to take a little more care of ourselves. For beauty over 40, we have to eat more of the leafy greens, fruits, and vegetables and scale back on the red meats. Drink more, more, more WATER! Green tea, white tea, black tea are also great, try to get in 4 cups. If your insides aren't hydrated, then what do you think your skin will eventually look like? Pack on the makeup if you want ladies, but at night when you wipe that all off, well, the Truth Will Set You Free!

Spice it Up

For beauty over 40 we need to take care of the inside as much or more than the outside. Here are just few  things that will benefit your gut health as well as your beauty.                                             Turmeric: GREAT for your skin, keeping it radiant and promoting hair growth – due to its anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti allergic, antioxidant, antiseptic and antibacterial properties.  Magnesium: is necessary for the enzymes that regulate DNA replication and repair. Without it, the skin is subject to a host of harmful free radical damage and inflammation.
Basically magnesium deficiency results in lower levels of fatty acids on the skin. This reduces elasticity and moisture and creates the perfect condition for dryness and inflammation. ugh, Just what we need!  Cayenne pepper: a very beneficial spice, it is an antioxidant, anti fungal, anti aging and can help speed up your metabolism. Cacao: benefits the skin as it is high in antioxidants. It has omega 6 fatty acids which help in cellular healing and good amounts of good for your skin, vitamin c (which the body does not produce or store and vitamin C helps your body absorb iron) and magnesium.
I love the last one, I get the dark chocolate fix without the guilt. But make sure if your eating dark chocolate that it is at least 70% cacao and only indulge in a small square, it is good for you but too much ruins the benefits.
